#### 3. Fiat Pay-in → Fiat Pay-out ⏳

***

#### Settlement Characteristics

* **Crypto and stablecoin settlements are near real-time**, driven by on-chain finality and instant liquidity availability.
* **Fiat settlements depend on banking infrastructure**, including correspondent banks and local clearing systems, which introduces longer settlement cycles.
* For fiat-in → stablecoin or fiat payouts, [Rolling Reserves](/landing/start/partners/rolling-reserves.md) **are mandatory** to ensure risk management and regulatory compliance, especially in EU and US markets.
* While slower, **fiat-to-fiat settlement offers more competitive fees** compared to faster settlement options.
