CoindPay Payment Failures: FAQs & Solutions

## Overview

CoindPay works with multiple strategic acquiring and payment processing partners to provide reliable fiat payment processing and stablecoin settlement.

Through intelligent payment orchestration and routing, CoindPay dynamically routes transactions to suitable acquiring partners based on factors such as fiat currency, payment method, transaction amount, country, IP location, and applicable risk and compliance requirements.

Our orchestration infrastructure is designed to optimize payment success rates, strengthen fraud prevention, and protect the security and integrity of payment flows between consumers and merchant businesses.

CoindPay is a **compliance-first cross-border payments, settlement orchestration, and treasury infrastructure platform** designed for merchants, platforms, PSPs, and fintech companies.

We connect traditional fiat payment rails with stablecoin-enabled settlement infrastructure, allowing consumers to pay through familiar local payment methods while merchants receive settlements in fiat or stablecoins — without requiring merchants or end users to directly interact with blockchain complexity or underlying crypto infrastructure.

Because payment processing involves multiple parties, including issuing banks, acquiring partners, payment networks, and payment service providers, a transaction may occasionally fail or require additional verification. The specific reason depends on the payment method, issuing bank, transaction details, and applicable security and compliance controls.

This guide explains common payment failures, their possible causes, and the steps you can take to resolve them.

### 1. Common Reasons for Payment Failures

#### 1.1 Your Bank Declined the Transaction

Your issuing bank may decline a transaction due to internal policies, transaction limits, fraud prevention controls, or restrictions on cryptocurrency-related purchases.

Payment approval is determined by the relevant bank or payment provider. CoindPay cannot override a decline issued by your bank.

**What you can do:**

* Contact your bank to confirm the reason for the decline.
* Ask whether your card or account supports the transaction type.
* Check whether online payments, international transactions, or cryptocurrency-related purchases are restricted.
* If available, try another supported payment method.

#### 1.2 Insufficient Funds or Transaction Limits

A payment may fail if your available balance or transaction limit is insufficient.

Your bank may apply limits to individual transactions, daily spending, online purchases, or international payments.

**What you can do:**

* Check your available balance and remaining transaction limits.
* Ensure sufficient funds are available to cover the purchase and any applicable fees.
* If permitted, try a smaller transaction within your available limit.

#### 1.3 Incorrect or Unsupported Card Details

Payments may fail if the card information is incorrect or the card is not supported for the selected transaction.

**What you can do:**

* Verify your card number, expiry date, and CVV/CVC.
* Ensure the cardholder name and billing information are accurate.
* Confirm that your card supports online and international payments, where applicable.
* Check whether prepaid, virtual, or corporate cards are supported by your issuing bank and the selected payment method.

#### 1.4 3D Secure Authentication Was Not Completed

Some card transactions require additional authentication through 3D Secure (3DS), such as Visa Secure or Mastercard Identity Check.

If authentication is rejected, expires, or is not completed, the payment may fail.

**What you can do:**

* Keep your banking app accessible before starting the payment.
* Approve the authentication request when prompted.
* Complete all verification steps before the authentication session expires.
* If no authentication request appears, contact your bank or retry later.

#### 1.5 Your Bank Flagged the Transaction for Security Reasons

Your bank or payment provider may flag a transaction as unusual due to factors such as transaction amount, purchasing behavior, merchant category, device signals, or location-related risk indicators.

The transaction may be declined or require additional verification.

**What you can do:**

* Check your banking app for a security notification.
* Confirm that you authorized the transaction.
* Contact your bank if the transaction remains blocked.
* Retry only after the underlying issue has been addressed.

#### 1.6 Your Card or Payment Method Is Restricted

Not all banks and payment methods support every transaction type. Certain credit cards, prepaid cards, corporate cards, or account types may be subject to additional restrictions.

Some credit card issuers may also classify cryptocurrency purchases as cash advances, potentially resulting in additional fees, interest, or transaction restrictions.

**What you can do:**

* Confirm the applicable restrictions and fees with your bank.
* Consider another supported payment method, such as a debit card or bank transfer, if available.
* Review the payment methods presented at checkout for your country or region.

#### 1.7 Billing Information or Identity Verification Did Not Match

Payment providers may perform identity, billing, and fraud checks to help prevent unauthorized transactions.

A mismatch between your identity verification details and payment information may result in a declined or restricted transaction.

**What you can do:**

* Use a payment method in your own name where required.
* Verify that your billing address matches your bank's records.
* Ensure that your identity verification information is accurate and up to date.
* Complete any additional verification requested during checkout.

#### 1.8 Temporary Technical Issues

A payment may fail because of temporary disruptions involving your bank, payment network, acquiring partner, or payment service provider.

**What you can do:**

* Wait a few minutes before trying again.
* Check whether your bank or payment method is experiencing an outage.
* Avoid repeatedly submitting the same transaction without changing anything.
* If the issue persists, contact CoindPay Support with the relevant transaction details.

### 2. How to Troubleshoot a Failed Payment

If your payment is unsuccessful, follow these steps:

1. **Review the error message.** Check whether the issue relates to your bank, payment method, authentication, or transaction limits.
2. **Verify your payment details.** Confirm that your card information and billing details are correct.
3. **Check your available balance and limits.** Ensure that sufficient funds are available and that the transaction is within your bank's limits.
4. **Complete any required authentication.** Approve pending 3D Secure or other bank verification requests.
5. **Contact your bank if necessary.** Ask whether the transaction was declined and whether any restrictions can be resolved.
6. **Try another supported payment method.** Available alternatives depend on your country, currency, and checkout configuration.
7. **Contact CoindPay Support.** If the problem continues, provide the transaction details and error message so the issue can be investigated.

CoindPay's intelligent routing may select different acquiring partners based on transaction attributes and applicable routing rules. However, alternative routing does not guarantee approval, and some declines or compliance restrictions cannot be resolved through rerouting.

### 3. Frequently Asked Questions

#### Why did my payment fail?

Payment failures can occur for several reasons, including bank declines, insufficient funds, transaction limits, incomplete authentication, incorrect payment details, or security and compliance checks.

The exact reason depends on the transaction and the parties involved in processing it. Review the error message first and contact your bank if the decline originated from the issuing side.

#### Did CoindPay reject my payment?

Not necessarily. A payment can be declined by your issuing bank, payment network, acquiring partner, or another participant in the processing flow.

CoindPay coordinates payment processing through its acquiring and payment partners, but the final decision may depend on the relevant provider's authorization, risk, and compliance controls.

#### Why does my card work elsewhere but fail at checkout?

Different merchants and transaction types may be subject to different bank policies, merchant category restrictions, fraud controls, and authentication requirements.

A card that works for ordinary purchases may still be declined for a particular transaction. Contact your bank to confirm the applicable restrictions.

#### Can CoindPay approve or override a declined transaction?

No. CoindPay cannot override a decline issued by your bank or another payment provider.

Depending on the reason for the failure, you may be able to resolve the issue with your bank, complete additional verification, or use another supported payment method.

#### Will CoindPay automatically retry my payment through another acquiring partner?

CoindPay uses intelligent payment orchestration to route transactions according to applicable routing rules, payment attributes, and risk and compliance requirements.

Whether a transaction can be rerouted or retried depends on the payment method, failure reason, partner capabilities, and applicable controls. Not all failed transactions are eligible for automatic retries or alternative routing.

#### Should I keep retrying the same payment?

We recommend addressing the likely cause before retrying. For example, complete the required authentication, confirm your available balance, or contact your bank to resolve a restriction.

Repeated attempts without resolving the underlying issue may result in further declines or additional security checks.

#### Was money taken if my payment was declined?

A declined payment generally does not result in a completed charge. However, your bank may temporarily display a pending authorization or hold.

The release timeframe depends on your bank and payment method. If the pending amount does not disappear within the expected timeframe, contact your bank for clarification.

#### Can I use another payment method?

Yes, if another supported payment method is available for your country, currency, and transaction.

Available options may vary according to regional coverage, acquiring partner support, transaction limits, and applicable risk and compliance requirements.

#### What if my payment still fails after troubleshooting?

If you have checked your payment details, completed the required authentication, and contacted your bank where necessary, please contact CoindPay Support.

To help us investigate, include the following information where available:

* The email address associated with your transaction
* The approximate date and time of the payment attempt
* The transaction amount and fiat currency
* The payment method used
* Your country or region
* The transaction reference or order ID
* The error message or error code displayed at checkout

**Important:** Never send your full card number, CVV/CVC, banking password, or one-time authentication code to Support.

### 4. Important Notes

* **Payment approval is not guaranteed.** Each transaction remains subject to the relevant bank, payment provider, and applicable risk and compliance checks.
* **Routing does not guarantee success.** Intelligent orchestration helps select suitable processing routes but cannot override issuer decisions or mandatory restrictions.
* **Available payment methods vary.** Supported methods and transaction limits depend on country, currency, payment method, and partner coverage.
* **Fees and settlement timing may vary.** The final payment and settlement experience depends on the selected payment method, transaction status, and applicable provider terms.

If your payment continues to fail, contact CoindPay Support for further assistance.
